Remera Undershade Lot8

Location : Nyamagabe

Varietal : Bourbon

Process : Fully Washed

Altitude : 1,800m-2,200m

Kumquat、Yuzu、Brown sugar、Long aftertaste

Located in the Nyamagabe district of southern Rwanda, the Remera washing station brings in and refines approximately 800 tons of cherries grown by more than 3,000 small-scale farmers.
The unique flavor is created by growing and washing with mineral-rich soil and water from the adjacent Nyugwe National Park on the Upper Nile River.
They have also introduced huge drying racks and are actively experimenting with experimental drying.
The altitude of the plantation is 1,800-2,200 m. Drying under the sun in African beds, the drying period is about 2 weeks. ( Depending on the weather. )
The annual harvest is from February to June. Soil is sandy and clay. Rainfall is about 1,300 mm/year.

This "Remera Undershade" lot is being dried on Remera's new steel-framed drying tables with clear vinyl sun shades.
The level of sunlight drying during the sun-drying process on the African beds has been adjusted in various ways to improve the quality of the green beans.

About Buf Coffee
Buf coffee is a coffee exporter that manages several washing stations.
The quality control of the farms and washing stations under Buf Coffee's management is excellent.
Only ripe cherries are handpicked and pulped the same night, and the cherries are divided into three grades according to weight.
The cherries are then fermented for 12-18 hours and further graded. The cherries are then fermented for another 12-18 hours, and then soaked in water tanks for another 24 hours.

At the Rwandan washing stations, the majority of the beans are sorted by women.
The beans are first placed on a covered drying table for about 6 hours, where they are still wet and unripe beans are sorted green and removed.
Then the beans are sorted on an uncovered drying table. On this drying table, the beans are dried for about two weeks (weather permitting).

When the beans reach about 11% humidity, they are stored in a warehouse and then transported to a dry mill in Kigali, where they are processed and evaluated for cupping by our partner, Q Grader.
In this way, BUF Coffee's coffee beans are produced, sorted, refined, cupped, evaluated, and shipped under strict quality control.
