The local purchase of green beans and farm inspections, which had been suspended due to the Corona disaster, resumed in May 2022 from this Honduras farm.
During this purchase, which was the first in about three years, our buyers also visited the Miraflores Estate.

The Miraflores Estate is located in the northwestern part of Honduras, in the Santa Barbara area, in a mountainous region at a high altitude.
The cool climate of the area and the temperature difference between day and night are ideal for growing high quality coffee. The sugar produced through photosynthesis is consumed less during the night when the temperature is relatively low, resulting in coffee that is sweeter and expresses complex fruitiness.

After harvest, the coffee cherries are transported to Huang's own refining and processing facility a short distance from the plantation, where they are processed to a state called parchment.

In the drying process, the recently expanded drying facility can dry approximately 3 tons of coffee at the same time, improving the uniformity of the process.
Once the drying process is complete, the coffee is transported to San Vicente, an exporter based near the facility, where it is managed by them until it is ready for trade.

【About San Vicente】
Based in Pena Blanca, a small town in northwestern Honduras, San Vicente currently works with more than 200 farmers, mostly from the Santa Barbara area.
The San Vicente team of several people, led by the owner, Angel, supports the company by providing on-site attendance, cupping, and transaction services for coffee importers, roasters, and other visitors from around the world.
Angel and Benjamin are also the owners of the coffee plantation, and they have won numerous awards at international competitions such as the Cup of Excellence.
They also provide support to growers through quality control of moisture and water activity values, which are essential for maintaining quality. The green coffee shipped from their farms is controlled to have a moisture value of 10-11% and a water activity value of 0.40-0.60aw.
