New release from Honduras COE award. This coffee got awarded in Honduran COE 2023 and placed at 25th. Natural process has brought a complex, fruity flavor with pleasant bitterness like cacao. More information from COE is as follows. Ariel Murcia is the owner of Finca “El Sol” located at the municipality of Concepcion del Sur, Santa Bárbara. His farm is located at 1450 m.a.s.l. Ariel started his coffee plantation in 2010 with a little bit more of 1 Has of Catuai Variety nowadays he has added Pacamara variety among others. He takes great care in all aspects of the coffee processing from the nursery to the harvesting. Keeping his farm healthy demands of him to do at least two fertilizations per year as well as the weed and pest control. At harvesting he makes sure only the red cherries are chosen. During the fermentation process he is very meticulous since he knows this is a decisive stage to enhance the coffee's natural characteristics. Then he dries coffee in the solar dryer and after that he stores them in wooden racks. He evaluates the coffee quality periodically through San Vicente exporter. He is very excited to be back at the international auction and hopes to find not only a good price but a good buyer who appreciates the effort of the producers to obtain quality coffee. He hopes he can maintain his good record and specialty as a producer.
